I had no idea what to expect from Bosnian food. But my friend insisted that I try this place out. The chef was recently named a finalist for the James Beard award. It's a fun vibe inside as the place was extremely busy on a heavy rain day. It's an open kitchen so you can watch them cook your dishes. This place was my favorite on my trip to St Louis. I had the brown butter hummus. And the bread was perfectly charred. A great chew texture to it. The Cevapi was one of the greatest things I've ever eaten. The sausages was so good and juicy. I could eat this sandwich every day! The pide was their version of a flatbread. And the beef one was outstanding. I loved everything here. I am in love with Balkan food now! What an experience.

Fun lunch date with my wife. Got there a little after 11:30 and the line was only about 10 people, and moving fast! Food was tasty and fresh as always, but I was thrown off by how the cocktail was offered. We got 2 glasses with ice in them and a to-go container. It was quite full (yeah!) but it made pouring the drinks more exciting that I hoped for at a lunch! Might be something to offer to pour for people, as it can be difficult at the small tables. But a great visit again, love having this place so close by!

I went here again and enjoyed my lunch choice a lot more this time! Again, the seating is really limited so you do feel rushed with everyone in line watching you like a hawk, but the food is delicious and it's a unique offering for St. Louis. They seem to have a good system where you can't sit down until you order. Once they have more seating options this would be a 5/5 for me!

I can't tell you how many times my husband said "wow this is fucking delicious" during his meal but the food I will say was fantastic. There was a long line when we got there but halfway through waiting we were seated by a server and she took our order as well. The staff was working hard we could see and they were all very friendly. We had a party of 4. The atmosphere was also nice.

Long line but went fast. Super efficient seating and service. Tried #1-4, all of it was delicious but #4 was my favorite!

A STL staple! In the neighborhood of Webster Groves, this Eastern European style restaurant is one not to miss. The food is absolutely immaculate. My go to order is their Spicy Chicken Doner. They also have other great options like their Pide and Cevapi. Look out for their specials as well! Portions are quite large and reasonable pricing as well. One order can fit two portion size meals. The restaurant does get quite busy around lunch time so make sure to get there early for a dine in spot. There is a parking lot in the back and limited street parking. Their staff is wonderful and knowledgeable about menu items. Overall, this is a must visit food spot for people visiting or living in St. Louis. And don't forget about their recently new brunch spot, Telva on the Ridge, which is equally as amazing!

One of the most delicious places in St. Louis! We went on a Saturday and the line was out the door. I hesitated leaving because it's incomparable and I had an out of town guest I wanted to impress. Well, it did not disappoint! The line was run so efficiently. Even though it didn't seem like there would be seating, the awesome employee made sure we found a table. The wait went quickly and gave us a chance to think about which amazing dish we wanted. After receiving our food, the servers checked on us many times even though it was so busy in there. Best place ever!! Food quality and taste is an explosion of flavor in your mouth. Highly recommend! The ambiance is casual, high energy.

Balkan Treat Box was fantastic. This was my first time, but the rest of the group I came with had been there plenty of times. Right behind the cash register there are pictures of all the menu offerings. This is super helpful if you're not familiar with Balkan food or just want to visualize what you're ordering. My fiancée ordered the Pide (#2) and I went with the Spicy Chicken Doner (#3). What stood out to me most from both of these dishes was how light, fluffy, and fresh the flatbread is. This makes a huge difference in the quality of the dishes. For the Spicy Chicken Doner, the staff recommended I add the spicy yogurt sauce to it and I'm glad I did since it paired nicely with the garlicky sauce inside. The iced tea they make fresh was also great. Would recommend giving Balkan Treat Box a try! Lots of yummy flavors and also an excellent option if you're vegetarian.

So glad they have some evening hours now! Met there for dinner after a matinee and glad we got there in time for the five of us to have a place to sit. The 'box' was absolutely out the door. The wait staff was helpful, attentive, and matched the casual atmosphere. Too late to try the hummus or baklava, sold out. Cevapi substituted nicely for shared appetizer. Enjoyed a luscious ample salad for my main. Some desserts passed around included bread pudding, rice pudding. Tasty, not too sweet. Bar menu small, mostly beers, wine. One cocktail but yummy. From scratch food with huge following. Better expect a wait in line but well worth it!

Would recommend this place as a top 10 in St. Louis. My favorite place if I have no idea where to eat or if I'm craving anything, I'll always suggest Balkan Treat Box! Their vegetarian options are tasty, so are their meat options! While the area is small, I do think it feels perfect! Everyone there was nice which makes me want to return every time. If you need a recommendation, a good item to try for the first time is either the Pljeskavica or the Pide. Both are very flavorful options that you could never go wrong!
